Much of what you are told about CloudLinux is flat-out wrong, and the internet is full of those mistakes.
For example, people tell you to buy cloud hosting so that your site never goes down, and so on.
The truth is that CloudLinux is an operating system, like CentOS and the rest, and all it does is split the server’s resources per user so that no single user consumes more than their share.
For instance, it can be set so that this cPanel account never uses more than 2 CPUs and 10 GB of RAM, and however much more it wants, it cannot take it.
Without CloudLinux, that account consumes as much as it likes and the server goes down.
One of the commands we always use instead of CloudLinux is cpulimit. Configured correctly, it can even give a better result than CloudLinux.
With CloudLinux you can set resources per user and for certain tasks, but with this command you can set the CPU for every single process on the server. It is only one command, of course, and there are others.
Many hosting companies with real expertise, and better quality to match, do not go near CloudLinux at all.
